What is the best way to use a Vigreux column for fractional-vacuum distillation?

I am trying to distill a water-ethanol mixture using fractional distillation under a vacuum. I am using a stainless steel pot with a very hard, airtight plastic lid. I can cut holes in the lid for the column. What is the best way to set up the column that is vacuum tight?
