Is it safe to put stainless steel screws, washed in a dishwasher, in ground spice shakers...?

Yes, it is safe to put those screws into spice shakers. Because you are washing them, you don't have to worry about machine oil from the manufacturing process. That oil would ruin your spices. This is a good idea, maybe I'll do it, too.
