What do you think of this poem?

It's pretty good, but I don't understand what it's talking about. At first I thought the author wanted to know whether someone loved them or not, then I thought s/he was arrogant and s/he wanted conformation that s/he was special and s/he was going somewhere, but I wasn't really sure.
