Is it okay to wear earrings 2 days after trying to stretch your ears?

okay so on sunday i got sum acrylic tapers (8g) but i wasn't comfortable with them and im choosing to go shopping tomorrow for stainless steel tapers at least 10-12g because i want to be careful not to get a blowout or anything. so i took out the tapers and just put earrings in until tomorrow but all of today they've been hurting a bit. so my question is, is it okay to do this? and what can i do to stop the pain? it doesn't hurt much it just feels like a pinch. and is the pain normal?
